Copycat Copycat is an intriguing psychological thriller.A superb plot backed by top-notch making & smart performances makes this a good watch.Sigourney Weaver & Holly Hunter puts up a smart show,both the actors delivered excellent performance.William McNamara playing the antagonist was superb,his performance in the climax is brilliant.Harry Connick was also good. Jon Amile being the director did an impressive job.He was able to keep that curiosity factor throughout the movie.His making is top-notch,there were no dull moments even though the narration is not that pacy.Bgm was lively & made the film moving. Overall,Copycat is an Intriguing Thriller ! 7.5/10
Hell or High Water Hell or High Water is a solid crime drama.It can be termed as a modern day classic for its brilliant making & well layered characters.The soothing western backdrop made it even more beautiful.The film boasts of some terrific performances,Jeff Bridges & Chris Pine were excellent,they just nailed it.Ben Foster is superb.Gil Birmingham was also good in a brief supporting role David Mackenzie should be applauded for making a masterpiece,brilliant direction.His making had a certain panache,it was equally absorbing & engaging.The frames are just fabulous,alluring cinematography,each & every shot was just awesome.The Soundtracks are excellent,the way they mixed it with the narration - pure class.Altogether,this one is not to be missed. Overall,Hell or High Water is Brilliant ! 9/10
Ghostbusters Ghostbusters is a highly entertaining cinema.The spot-on humor along with some superb performances makes this worth a watch.Ghostbusters is high on both slapstick humor & witty one-liners,this one is genuinely funny.Performance of the lead cast is smart with every actor delivering noteworthy act.Melissa McCarthy,Kristen Wigg & Kate McKinnon were good,but it is Krsiten Wiig who steals the show with her kick-ass performance,she just nailed it.Chris Hemsworth is good in a completely different avatar. Paul Feig as the director was in full control of things.His narrative pattern was engaging & pacy enough to grab the attention,it also sweeps away the time to think.The comedies worked out big time which piled the strength of the movie during the initial hour.The climax is a real visual stunner with some smartly choreographed action sequences.Bgm is another superb aspect,it elevated the movie to a whole new level,especially during the final scenes. Overall,Ghostbusters is Entertaining ! 7/10
Paul Blart : Mall Cop 2 The 2nd installment in the Paul Blart Series,this one may not be highly entertaining like its predecessor,but it does have some lol moments to engage you.The film follows the same pattern like its first part,comedy mixed with some action.The first 30 minutes was painfully boring with Kevin overdoing most of the scenes,the film only gets to the right tempo after the main plot comes into play.Kevin James was good although over the top at times,others doesn't have much to do. Directed by Andy Fickman,this one is partially entertaining.It may be a sequel,but the basic plot & even the situations looks almost the same like its predecessor,which is indeed the biggest drawback of this movie.Don't expect a complete entertainer like the first part,this one has few laughs here and there. Overall,Paul Blart : Mall Cop 2 is an Average Watch ! 5/10
Witness Witness is a watchable crime thriller.It started off really well giving the hopes of a superb thriller,but halfway through the proceedings,it lost its momentum & became more of a romance drama.Dwelling deep into the amish cultures brought boredom,it really diverted the genre from being a thriller to a drama.Harrison Ford is superb like always,he delivered an excellent performance.Kelly McGills is good.Supporting Cast were fine. Peter Weir's making doesn't had consistency.Labelled as a crime thriller,many of the portions were contradictory that genre.The movie anyway ended on a high note with a superb climax,it really lifted the overall appeal of the movie. Overall,Witness is Watchable ! 6.5/10
The Angry Birds The Angry Birds is a pretty decent entertainer.The superb humor quotient saves the movie to a large extent,the plot is wafer-thin,but the humor content & the smartly written characters makes this an easy one time watch.Voice acting was excellent.Sean Penn rendering Terence's voice was highly impressive. Clay Kaytis - Fergal Raily,the director duo did a good job.The movie basically being an adaptation from a game has nothing much of a content in it,but the makers have tried their level best to sum up this as a watchable flick. Overall,The Angry Birds is Watchable ! 6.5/10
The Secret Life of Pets The Secret Life of Pets is a highly entertaining animation comedy.It may be that routine animation stuff,but it never fails to get you engaged throughout.The fast paced narration along with some smartly written one-liners makes this one a really good.The voice acting stands out,superbly done.Kevin Hart rendering the voice of snowball was just awesome,the characterisation of snowball is smart & extremely funny. Chris Renaud was impressive with his direction.His making & the way he treated a simple plot was the main strength of this film.It never gets you bored,with some really hilarious moments & a bundle of smart one-liners,this one offers you a good watch. Overall,The Secret Life of Pets is a Good Watch ! 7.5/10
Clue Clue looks more of a stage drama rather than a movie.Touted as a mystery drama,this one isn't engaging enough to put that label.Every aspect of the movie seems unreal,may it be the artificial performances or the dramatic staging for this kind of genre.The performance of the lead cast is nothing worth mentioning. Jonnathan Lynn as the director could have made this better.The basic plot had interesting elements,but the below par execution made it haywire.The only interesting part of the movie is its climax,the only portion which brings some sort of interest. Overall,Clue is Below Average ! 4/10
War Dogs War Dogs is a superbly crafted comedy drama.The film which throws light up on many issues has been treated with much needed brilliance,kudos to Todd Philips for making a sensible & entertaining cinema.The movie has some amazing performances to look out for,smartly acted.Miles Teller & Jonah Hill did an excellent job portraying their characters to perfection,both of them were too good with their act.Ana as the female lead was good with her performance.Bradley Cooper in brief cameo made his presence felt. Todd Philips is a brilliant film maker & this one is surely in his best works till date.His making is top-notch,the way he handled a serious theme by adding enough humor & other entertaining factors were impressive,the underlying political satire was also superb.The dialogues were powerful & that brilliant quotes that comes in between the sequences were smart. Overall,War Dogs is a Superb Cinema 8.5/10
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Diary of a Wimpy Kid is an entertaining cinema.The movie stands in its well written comedies & witty one-liners.Zachary Gordon was at ease playing the title role with perfection,he was apt & extremely good with his performance.Supporting cast was fine,Chole Grace in a small role was too good. Thor Freundenthal as the director was able to pull of an engaging cinema from a much seen plot,although the climax portions was a bit dull,the movie looked good on the whole.Personally,i felt Rodrick rules a bit more engaging than this.Waiting to watch the 3rd installment in this franchise - Dog Days. Overall,Diary of a Wimpy Kid is Watchable ! 6.5/10
