The Cokeville Miracle The Cokeville Miracle is an average cinema at best. The central plot being based on a true story had all the elements to make it a completely engaging flick, but the amateurish making & shoddy technical quality made this an avg cinema on the whole.Performances of the lead cast were just limited to an okayish level, they couldn't rise above a particular level,Jasen Blade playing the lead has nothing much to do. T.C Christinen's making is below par.it doesn't meet up the standards of a usual hollywood film, both in cinematic & technical quality.Vfx was sub-standard to be honest, even the bomb explosion scenes were loosely shot. The last 20 minutes were the only part where the film gained some momentum,it was nicely taken - a strong emotional content made it better & these parts made the cinema look avg on the whole. Overall,The Cokeville Miracle is an Average Cinema ! 5/10
Nerve Nerve is a fast paced techno thriller which sums up as an easy one time watch. The basic premise was interesting - a game being the backdrop made it a lot more engaging.Emma Roberts doing the lead did a superb job,she was the soul of this film, charming & excellent performance.Dave Franco was ok,Others were fine. Henry Joost - Ariel Schulman, the director duo managed to give a watchable film out of an interesting plot. The movie had a really good flow till the last 20 minutes, the end portions were way too predictable & was not worth the build-up.Some of the scenes were smartly taken, technically too - Nerve is good.Music is superb, the tracks in between the proceedings were too good. Overall,Nerve is Watchable ! 6/10
The Tall Man The Tall Man is half-baked mystery drama. The movie doesn't rise above a mediocre level except for the neatly shot climax portions. The starting was superb giving some real hopes of an intriguing cinema, but halfway through the proceedings,it became preachy & cliched.Jessica Biel delivers an intense performance, her performance was indeed the saving grace at times.Supporting Cast doesn't have much to do. Pascal Laugier as the director couldn't make this convincing nor engaging, the muddled up execution & the dark tone without any thrills made it boring at times. The only positive was the final 10 minutes, with a good narration,it ended on a decent note. Overall,The Tall Man is a Mediocre Stuff ! 5/10
It Follows It Follows is a rather uninteresting thriller, mixing the horror, thriller & mystery genres together was pretty decent idea, but the lack of a solid story plays the spoilsport. The film doesn't really have a plot, with its limited resources, the makers have tried their level best to scare the hell out of us - but nothing worked really.Performances of the lead cast is indeed the saving grace of this flick.Maika Monroe delivers an intense performance, most of the dull scenes were lifted just due to her honest & smart performance.Supporting Cast were fine in their respective roles. David Robert Mitchell as the director doesn't really had an idea on how to make this one an interesting flick. The starting was superb,it gave some good hopes on the proceedings, but everything went haywire. The sluggish pace along with an underdeveloped plot tested the patience at regular intervals.Altogether, the movie has nothing much to offer. Overall,It Follows is a Below Average Stuff ! 4/10
A Walk Among the Tombstones A Walk Among the Tombstones is a well crafted crime drama.A quite restrained making along with Liam's amazing performance makes this one a finely made cinema. The movie is basically a subtle & calm portrayal of an intense theme,we as the viewers indeed moves along with the proceedings.Liam Neeson yet again delivers a fabulous performance,he is required to be subtle throughout which he did it to perfection, the scene where he talks to the villain through the phone is pure goosebumps - the Neeson style of delivering subtle mass scenes.Others were good. The making of the movie is slick & smart.Scott Frank made it a completely appealing cinema - both in terms of technical quality & cinematic brilliance. The climax portions were smartly taken - the shootout scenes, the final action block with the villain were all just superb. Overall,A Walk Among the Tombstones is a highly impressive cinema ! 8.5/10
"Humanity is the disease,Inferno is the cure" - Build on this basic premise,Inferno offers an engaging watch. The movie which is a mystery thriller marks the return of Robert Langdon, the character which had been skillfully portrayed by Tom Hank's.Inferno moves in an adrenaline rush with no time to waste nor to detail any of the happenings, right from the start,it is a roller-coaster ride.Performances of the lead cast is highly impressive.Tom Hank's delivers an excellent performance like always - this one is just a cakewalk for him,but his subtle emotional act in the climax alongside Sidse Babbet is worth mentioning.Felicity Jones is superb, provided ample support to Hanks throughout.Irfan Khan has nothing much to do - he was under-utilised to be honest.Among the Supporting Cast,Its Sidse Babbet who makes her presence felt - good performance. Ron Howard - The maker of this series, the film follows the same path like its predecessors, but it never gets you bored.Ron Howard has made this one slick, there are few nail biting moment which makes this a fine watch.Technically,Inferno is a quality product.Dop is excellent, the shots in Istanbul were fabulously taken.Editing is fine.Bgm is superb,it was electrifying in some of the sequences. The film has some smartly etched out twist & turns, the proceedings were engaging till the climax. The build-up towards the climax was good, but the cliched climax was rather disappointing.Post Climax Scenes made it better on the whole - thanks to Tom's superb performance in those scenes. Overall,Inferno is a fine one time watch ! 6.5/10
Paper Towns Paper Towns is a well crafted & pretty much absorbing cinema. The basic plot filled with mystery, love & friendship strikes a chord rightly with the viewers, thanks to its smart & earnest making.Performances are indeed one of the strong points in this film, beautifully acted by the lead cast.Natt Wolf did a commendable job,he was subtlle,a finely controlled & restrained performance.Cara Delevingne is superb, though more of an extended cameo - she made her presence felt throughout.Halston Sage,Austin Abraham & Justice Smith doing doing the prominent supporting roles were good. The making is impressive, the narration is calm & engaging - of course entertaining.Jake Schreier as the director was in full control of things,He made this a quality stuff.Another superb aspect of this film is its soulful music - it was soothing & synced well with the proceedings.Dialogues are beautifully written - especially the narration by Natt Wolf - pure class. Overall,Paper Towns is an Absorbing Cinema ! 8/10
We're the Millers We're the Millers is a genuinely funny & engaging film. With its spot-on humour & smartly written one-liners,this offers you 120 minutes of entertainment. The kick-ass performances of the lead cast makes it a notch above on the whole, superbly acted.Jason Sudeikis does a superb job, some of his one-liners are extremely good.Jenifer Aniston is good,Will Poulter is fine,Emma Roberts was too good. Rawson Marshall Thurber does an impressive job as the director, the basic plot has nothing much of a stuff in it - its wafer thin to be honest, what made this a better film is of course its making, indeed the full credits goes to the director. The making is smart, rightly mixed the entertainment elements, the climax which is more of a feel-good one made this a good fim on the whole. Overall,We're the Millers is a good one time watch ! 6.5/10
