Frozen (2010) A college student goes on a weekend ski/snowboard outing with his girlfriend and his jealous buddy. It was supposed to be just the guys, but Parker came along, much to buddy Lynch's dismay. She is still learning, and as a result of this, the trio spends most of the day on a bunny slope. After some complaining from Lynch, they decide to go on a quick run down the mountain before the day is through, but there's bad weather moving in. They manage to convince the lift operator to let them go, but through a series of unfortunate circumstances, the lift is stopped midway up the mountain leaving them stuck as the place shuts down for the week. With bad weather, the freezing cold and a large drop between them and the ground, the chances for survival are looking slim. And that's not taking the pack of hungry wolves into account........... In a Valley of Violence Old Fashioned and Enjoyable like the vintage western films,In a Valley of Violence is a perfect homage to the classic western dramas.Bloodshed,Gunfights and Action,this one shows complete justice to its genre.Ethan Hawke puts up a brilliant performance,being subtle initially and changing to a complete different man who urges for revenge,he nailed it.John Travolta has nothing much to do,still he was good with his performance.James Ransone was superb playing the role of the antagonist.Taissa Farmiga and Karen Gillan were good playing the female leads. Ti West as the director did an impressive job.He was succeeded in bringing the retro western feel,mixing every element in the right proportion,he manages to make this an engaging cinema.The shots were like those 90's cinemas of the western genre,smartly done.Bgm is simply superb,some of the tunes did bring goosebumps.In short,this one has enough elements to turn out as a good one time watch,especially for the lovers of western dramas. Overall,In a Valley of Violence is Engaging ! 7/10 "They left me with nothing,I'm gonna leave them with less"
Reality Bites Soothing and Entertaining,Reality Bites is a neatly crafted romantic drama.Winona's charming performance backed by Stiller's captivating narration made this a really good cinema.Without any second thoughts,it is Winona Ryder who makes this cinema extremely entertaining,her brilliant performance along with her charming screen presence made the proceedings interesting,she was fascinating indeed.Ethan Hawke,Ben Stiller,Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahn were good playing the supporting roles. Ben Stiller as the director did a superb job.His making is one of the factors which made this cinema enjoyable.He was in full control of things,with never a dull moment to offer,this one is engaging form the very start itself.The soundtracks are another excellent aspect of this cinema,the timely tunes made many of the scenes even more better.In short,this one is a good watch. Overall,Reality Bites is Good ! 8/10
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Joyous and Entertaining,Fantastic Beasts is a superbly crafted fantasy drama.A highly engaging theme backed by a totally captivating narration made this a a completely enjoyable cinema.Eddie Raymande is superb with this performance,he made the lead character extremely lovable with his amazing act.Katherine Waterston,Dan Fogler,Alison Sudol,Colin Farrell and Ezra Miller were really good playing thr supporting roles.Finally,there is one splendid cameo to watch out for,hopefully,he is going to make the upcoming movies in this franchise a real stunner. David Yates as the director made a faithful adaption of one of J.K Rowlings's bestseller.His fabulous making along with Rowlings's highly engaging story yet again drives the viewers back to the much loved world of magic and wizards,a new era of wizarding world.This one techincally sound and it is one of the biggest strength of this cinema.In short,Fanatic Beasts is indeed a cinema which provides you wholesome entertainment. Overall,Fantastic Beasts is Superb ! 8.5/10
The Imitation Game Intriguing and Absorbing,The Imitation Game is a masterfully crafted cinema.The poignant performances backed by the pitch perfect narration makes this a stunning cinematic experience.Bennedict Cumberbatch once again gets into the skin of the character and delivers a towering performance,each nuance and even his minute expressions justified the character,such a terrific actor he is.Keira Nightley,Mathew Goode,Rory Kinear,Allen Leech and Mathew Beard were excelling portraying thr supporting characters. Kudos to Motren Tydlum for making such a great cinema,a superbly detailed and throughly engaging narration by Tydlum made this really interesting.I just can't belive that this same guy made the terribly boring "Passengers".Techically sound and superior,the makers were successful in bringing out the perfect environment which suited the movie largely.The soundtracks were equally brilliant,the superb tunes towards the ending made it soothing.In short,this one is a cinema not to be missed. Manchester by the Sea Beautifully Acted and Superbly Narrated,Manchester by the Sea is a brilliant emotional drama.Casey Affleck's towering performance backed by Lonergan's astounding execution made this a must watch cinema by all means.Casey Affleck delivers an outstanding performance,he brought out every emotion of the character in a subtle manner,each nuance of him was fabulous.Michelle Williams and Lucas Hedges are two other actors who puts up excellent performances,both of them were superb with their act. Kenneth Lonergan as the director did a fantastic job making this one of the finest emotional dramas to have come out recently.An absorbing theme has been made into a brilliant cinema,may it be the performances or other technical aspects,each and everything in this movie is remarkable.The soundtracks were worth mentioning,they were extremely soothing and was nicely mixed up with the proceedings.In short,this is one of the finest cinemas of 2016 and is a must watch. Overall,Manchester by the Sea is Beautiful ! 9/10
Miss Sloane Slick,Stylish and Engaging,Miss Sloane is a wisely crafted political thriller.Jessica's stunning performance backed by a solid plot and enthralling narration made it gripping till the end.Jessica Chastain delivers one of her career best performance as Sloane,each nuance of her suited the character.Jessica single handedly shoulders the whole film with her brilliant performance and dominating screen presence.Supporting cast were good. Kudos to John Madden for making a pitch perfect cinema that has enough thrills and drama.His making is highly impressive and it instantly garners the viewers attention.Climax is simply the best part of the movie,it was really a goosebumps stuff with that elevating tunes playing in the background,Jessica nailed those scenes.In short,this is really a good thriller that is sure to entertaining everyone. Overall,Miss Sloane is Superb ! 8.5/10 "It's about making sure you surprise them,and that they don't surprise you"
A Monster Calls Emotional and Gripping,A Monster Calls is a superbly crafted fantasy drama.The superlative performances backed by the powerful narration makes this one of the finest cinemas to have come out in this genre.Lewis MacDougall is indeed a bundle of talent,such a brilliant performance at this very young age.He was terrific with his act,the way he performed in emotional sequences is exceptional.Sigourney Weaver and Felicity Jones are two other stellar performers,both the actors delivered a solid and class act.Liam Neeson rendering the voice for the Monster is something to look out for,such a powerful and intense voice acting. J.A Bayona as the director did a fabulous job making this a brilliant cinema.He perfectly balanced the emotional and fantasy genre which resulted in this superb outcome.The film has some exceptionally carved emotional sequences,climax being the best among those.The climax is sure to bring some tears into your eyes.In short,this is one cinema which is high on both emotional content and fantasy drama and this is easily one among the finest cinemas of this genre. Overall,A Monster Calls is Brilliant ! 9/10
Live by Night Live by Night is a passable gangster drama in spite of the regular clichés seen in a movie of this genre.The technical fineness along with some remarkable scenes are the factors which holds this film together.Performances are not so great,it is very ordinary.Ben Affeck is good even though this isn't a role which requires his acting mettle.Same is the case with the supporting cast,none of the actors have anything exceptional to perform. Ben Affeck as the director could not make this a fresh cinema,instead,he followed the template pattern of a gangster drama.Some of the scenes were brilliantly crafted,the best being the last 20 minutes.The ending was neat and indeed the best part of the movie.Kudos to the technical department for making such a quality product,ranging from the stunning frames to the superb soundtracks,each and every aspect were worth mentioning.In short,this is a usual gangster drama that has its share of ups and downs. Overall,Live by Night is Watchable ! 6/10
