We had reported how superstar Salman Khan had recently come out in support of Pakistani artistsbeing compelled to leave the country, in wake of the Uri terror attacks and India’s subsequent retaliatory surgical strikes. This has irked MNS chief, Raj Thackeray, no end, whose party was the first to demand that Pakistani artists be sent back. Venting his anger on Sallu’s remarks, Thackeray was quoted by Times Now saying, “Is there a dearth of talent in India that we need to borrow artistes from Pakistan? These people are only concerned about their movies doing well in Pakistan. What we need to understand is that the soldiers who die defending our borders, it's not that they have some personal enmity with Pakistan. And the bullets that hit them aren't 'filmi' bullets. They're real, unlike the ones Salman faces in his movies. Artistes don't drop from the sky. Even I'm an artist.”
