We all know what director Shankar is capable of. He goes to extreme limits and spends some huge amounts to shoot his films. Now, he has done the same once again for his upcoming film Robot 2.0.

Shankar booked the entire Forum Vijaya mall in Chennai just to shoot some crunch scenes for his film. As the film had heavy star cast, the shoot was planned in the night and the entire mall which is built on many floors was under control of Shankar and team.

Reports suggest that the team had spent a bomb for this shoot. Akshay Kumar and Rajni play lead roles in the film which has Amu Jackson as the female lead.

 

Superstar Rajinikanth '2.0' shooting is progressing as per plan. It is being reported for quite sometime that the team which has taken a break after a gruelling long schedule in New Delhi will resume the shoot in Chennai at a studio in the outskirts of the city.

But the director Shankar seems to have started the Chennai schedule secretly in a Mall in Chennai. Sources reveal that the '2.0' crew shot some portions in Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani between 2 am and 6 am this morning. The team had obtained special permission to shoot at the wee hours as the general public wont be there and that time.

Rajinikanth did not take part in today's shoot at the mall while Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was spotted. He plays the lead villain in this mega budget sci-fi entertainer produced by Lyca Productions.

 

Shankar’s Robot 2.0 is one film which has been in news from the time it went on floors. Be it for its huge budget or for the range of stars it showcases, the film is a hot topic of discussion all the time.

Now, the film is once again in news. Latest reports from Chennai reveal that yesteryear actress, Ramya Krishna might do an important role in the film. These are mere speculations and nothing has been confirmed as of now.

Super star Rajni has been working non stop from quite some time now. He shot for Kabali and then straight away moved to Robot 2.0 and this has taken a lot of toll on his body.

To take things easy, he is currently in the US and is spending some quality time with his family. Even though everyone knows about this, latest update is that he is also trying various make up tests for his upcoming film Robot.

A special team has been engaged to conduct these tests when Rajni is free during his stay. Robot 2.0’s shooing is half way through and will resume it’s shoot once Rajni comes back from his trip.

 

The first look poster of Superstar Rajinikanth's2.0 will be unveiled in the month of September, according to the latest report.

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster hit Enthiran, which had theLingaa star and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead.




Also starring Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar, who is making his Tamil debut, 2.0 will be released in three languages (Tamil, Hindi & Telugu).

One of the most awaited Indian films ever, this Rajinikanth-starrer is being made with a whopping budget of 350 Crore rupees, and is expected to be the costliest movie India has ever produced, at the time of its release.

Understandably, the news that the first look poster of 2.0 will be made available in the month of September, has stirred up fans and movie lovers, who are eagerly waiting to gobble up anything pertaining to the film.

Captured by Nirav Shah, the sci-fi entertainer will be shot entirely in the 3D format. The film is expected to release sometime in 2017, perhaps for Diwali.

In his latest interview to heytamilcinema.com, Raju Mahalingam, Creative Head, Lyca productions has said 2.0 will prove that director Shankar has the potential, similar to that of a Hollywood film-maker.

"'2.0' has something for all kinds of audiences. You will see that Shankar has all the potential of a Hollywood producer once the film releases. With the combined brand value of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Shankar and Rahman, we think the project will be a great success.

Being primarily a mobile company, we also have many ways of distributing the music of a film. We are looking at taking the film into the Chinese market in a very big way. He (Rajinikanth) has given over 125 hits, a few flops along the way do not affect his image at all. Gold is always gold," he has said.
