    Not RajiniKanth, Akshay Kumar is the face of 2.0 – here’s why!

    Why is Akshay Kumar the face of 2.0 and not Rajinikanth

    Surprised? Shocked? Astonished? Well, we are too. We all know that south superstar Rajinikanth is revered and not without any reason. The Thalaivar is coming up with a new mega project 2.0 which is a sequel to his hugely successful Robot or Enthiran in Tamil released in 2010. Rajinikanth flew down to the city over the weekend to attend a grand event organised to unveil the first look of 2.0. The Thalaivar was his extremely humble and gracious self as he announced that not him but Akshay Kumar is the real hero of this film. Salman Khan too came uninvited to this gala fuction and praised the Rustom star for his spectacular growth as an actor. Akshay was all smiles as he professed how humbled he was with all the adulation.

    Well, though it was mighty huge of the Thalaivar to give Akshay credit for the movie but a report from DNA suggests that the makers essentially want to sell 2.0 on Akshay’s merit. Confused? Don’t be for you know that though Rajinikanth is a mega star in the southern belt of the nation, his films are still not very popular in the northern areas. The makers want to market 2.0 by throwing focus on Akshay, given that he has a crazy fan base in the said areas. A source confirmed, “The thing is, the producers of 2.0 hope to sell the film to the Hindi belt on the basis of AK’s presence there. For all his iconic status, Rajini’s films don’t work in North India. With Akshay Kumar playing the villain against Rajnikanth, the makers of 2.0 hope to make a killing in both the Hindi and non-Hindi markets. Hence the film will be marketed as a two-hero film all across the country.”
