Ultimate star Ajith is turning 45 today. He is not only the most stylish actors, but one of the most bold and confident artists. On the event if his birthday, we leave worked as a mechanic, listed among the top 100 in the Forbes, and the likes, to Wikipedia and Google. We know what we like best about him. And here's what his colleagues, the rest of the tinsel town, admire in him.

• Trisha: The pretty lady who has retained her position as the dream girl of K-town, consistently for more than a decade says Ajith is a gentleman. "It is such a pleasure working with him. I wouldn't mind more projects with Ajith," says Trisha, who happens to be a fan of Ajith's biriyani too!

• Vidyut Jamwal: The Bolly actor who has found his place as the heartthrob of every girl across the country, got his K-town entry alongside Ajith, in Billa 2. The actor says that Ajith is a charmer. "He is a warm person and it was a wonderful experience, working with Ajith," says Vidyut.
  
• Premgi: Hailing from a cine family, stars and stardom comes as second nature to Premgi. However, he deeply admires Ajith, and is a great fan of this humble man, and his culinary skills too!
  
• Appukutty: "I am stunned by what has come out. No doubt, he is an amazing talent!" exclaims Appukutty, who was one of the chosen few to be Ajith's model, for his passion in photography. "Ajith is very warm and a supportive person, and completely down to earth," says Appukutty.
  
• Lakshmi Menon: Having worked with Ajith in Vedhalam, Lakshmi remarks "Not only does Ajith give his best, but he is also in complete understanding of what he does." In short, he understands and chooses right. She remarked so especially in connection with his hobbies of racing and photography.
  
• Simbu: This one needs no introduction. We all know that STR is an ardent Thala fan, who does not miss FDFS of all Ajith movies, come what may. With numerous references to Thala in all his movies, Simbu is also all praise for his hero's humility.
  
• Shruthi Hassan: This multi talented actress put it crisply. Shruthi feels that Ajith is not only an amazing actor, but an amazing person too. And oh, she is also one among the bandwagon of his biriyani fans.
  
• Shahrukh Khan: Once at an event in Chennai, SRK was stunned by the thunderous response he received at the mere mention of Ajith's name. By Shahrukh's own account, Ajith had gone forward to extend his work schedule for his role in Asoka by five days, without hesitation; and the best part, he didn't take a penny for that! When Bollywood ka badshah himself sings praise of Ajith, need we say more?

Ajith could have been called anything, or titled to be any high profile star. But it is all this good nature that he confidently establishes as his attitude of suave style, that makes him the Ultimate star, and fondly, Thala. Hero worship has been a social trait since ancient times. Even in our epics, we have someone as a hero to celebrate gloriously. In this multicultural society, cinema is something that unites all and we are now celebrating cinema heroes.

But not all tinsel town heroes are worshiped by people. You need to have something special to command mass following for a long period of time. Out of the few who have got that in Tamil cinema, Ajith Kumar has something extra special, as he does not follow the trodden path to retain stardom.

Ajith or Thala as he is fondly addressed by his fans, is someone who maintains a long distance from media and off late the distance has increased. In this digital era he does not have a social media presence nor has he appointed any person to keep connected on his behalf with his fans in social media. It has been years since he met his fans and he dismantled his fan clubs in 2011. People can see him only in films as he never makes any public appearances and even avoids promoting his own films .

While these principles of Ajith have started facing criticism, his star power and fan following hasn’t shrunk a little. In there are people becoming his fans inspired by his way of living life on his own terms. People fighting to prove his might in social media is huge in number.

Recently there were a series controversies doing rounds in media and social media, placing the Nadigar Sangam and Ajith Kumar on the two sides of the battle field. Nadigar Sangam conducted the Star Cricket tournament to raise funds for a new building. Almost all the leading heroes participated in the tournament. Weeks before the tournament, it was rumored that Ajith criticized the Sangam’s decision to raise funds from the public to construct a building and he wanted actors to contribute. Ajith never owned such statement.

On the other hand it was rumored that Nadigar Sangam administration considered taking stringent actions against Ajith for allegedly criticizing their move. Statements attributed to the Sangam harshly criticizing Ajith, made rounds in social media.

Some other harsher rumors also kept spreading around, until the Nadigar Sangam’s office bearers recently clarified in a press meet that they respect Ajith’s decision to not take part in the tournament and they had nothing against him. General Secretary Vishal went on to say he has a huge respect for Ajith, as a senior star.

One phenomenally striking aspect in this entire saga is that Ajith never tried to explain his position; never contacted anyone to do that and not even sent a press release clarifying his stand. Till now he remains aloof in this matter.





One can say that Ajith should have intervened at some point and clarified his stand. Others may appreciate him for the way he handled the entire issue. Which side you stand is based on your perspective. But Ajith will continue doing what he considers right. This is Ajith for you. He just wants you to watch his films, support them if you are satisfied for the money you paid or reject them if you are not. Live and let live is the principle he follows and it is also his advice to fans.

Beyond all the respectable attributes he possesses as a person, Ajith also remains steadfast in his acting profession over the years. Remaining a commercial box office king, he has ventured into quite a few experimental attempts within the commercial framework. ‘Vaali’,‘Citizen’ and ‘Varalaru’ will fall under this category. His penultimate film ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ released at a time when he is one of the top three superstars of Tamil cinema. But he had acted as a director’s actor in that film. Immediately he switched gears to ‘Vedalam’. It is an out and out Ajith film aimed to satisfy the fans who would go berserk when they come across a tiny reference to Thala in films. The film also made a positive cut with the family audience as a neat entertainer and turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year 2015.

Ajith is also someone who is extremely committed to his profession. He has tried many daredevil stunts on his own and even injured himself many times. During ‘Vedalam’ shoot he sustained a severe leg injury but did not allow the film’s progress to be stalled a bit. He finished the film and underwent the long impending surgery, only after completing his commitment for the producer who has invested huge money.

All these would sum up why he remains a lovable man for fans as well as film fraternity though he connects to them only as a professional.

Actor Ajith, who is celebrating his birthday today, the 1st of May is known for not being pompous about his celebrations or encashing his stardom on special days like these. This fact only got reiterated when Behindwoods called the Birthday Boy’s PR officer, Suresh Chandra to wish the star and inquire about his plans for the day.



"Ajith sir, is not in station and he has no big plans for today. As usual this will also be a low profile day for him”



When we asked about Thala 57’s official announcement schedule, “No announcements planned for today, June second week is the chosen time for this as of now” said PRO Suresh Chandra.
