The business of the film will be similar to Golmaal 3 which also grossed 108 crore nett in 2010. There are two comedy films which have grossed more which are Ready (120 crore) and Housefull 2 (111 crore) though in terms of adjusted nett there are many with the 1999 film Biwi No1 topping the list with the highest adjusted nett gross for a comedy film since 1994.

Akshay Kumar Introduces Ileana, Esha and Arjan's Characters From 'Rustom'



Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Rustom has already gripped one and all with its intriguing trailer. The film has dramatized the Nanavati Case which had eventually led to the removal of the jury system in India.

Akshay Kumar recently revealed the first looks of three characters, who have shaped his character's entire destiny; Ileana D'Cruz, Arjan Bajwa and Esha Gupta.


The first poster shows Rustom's wife Cynthia Pavri, played by Ileana D'Cruz. She is seen sporting a black dress with a little plunge down the neckline. The actor captioned the image as, Meet Cynthia Pavri,the anchor of my life, my wife but then our life boat hit rock bottom! Find out on Aug 12.”

Priydarshan Feels There's A Huge Scarcity Of Comedy Films Today.



Mumbai: Filmmaker Priyadarshan has offered several rib-tickling comedies throughout his career but the director says he feels sad over the state of comedy movies today.

Known for helming blockbusters like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Malamaal Weekly, Bhagam Bhaag, Priyadarshan says comedy in films has been reduced to mere antics of mocking.


"There is a huge scarcity of good comedy films today. What I see is total buffoonery being passed as 'comedy'. I don't believe in the comedy which relies heavily on just making faces and mocking," Priyadarshan said.

The 59-year-old director said he has consciously avoided using crass dialogues in his comedies as films are meant to be watched by a family audience.

"I have always stayed away from double meaning, crass and vulgar dialogues in my films. I don't believe in them. And hence, I feel sad when I see the state of comedy films," the Hungama director said.

"There is a certain social value associated with comedy films. You should make films which children can enjoy with their parents. There should be quality comedy," he added.

Priyadarshan, whose last Hindi film was Rangeezz in 2013, will start his new comedy film featuring Akshay Kumar and produced by Rohit Shetty.

"The project got slightly delayed because Akshay is busy with other films. I am in no rush. I am coming back after a long gap in a positive way. Other cast members will be finalised soon," he said.

"I can easily say it is going to be one of my best comedy films yet. The film will have organic, situational comedy," Priyadarshan added.

Akshay Kumar was shooting for a scene with Ileana D’Cruz for their upcoming film ‘Rustom’ when the actor’s daredevilry saved the day. Akki and Ileana were canning a horse riding scene when Ileana’s stallion went out of control. Quick to react, Khiladi Kumar immediately grabbed the reins of the horse and managed to calm him singlehandedly. The makers of ‘Rustom’ were totally impressed with the way the incident played out, along with Akshay’s presence of mind, and have retained this romantic sequence in the Bollywood movie. ‘Rustom’ is based on the 1950s infamous Nanavati murder case and will hit the screens in August 2016.

Akshay Kumar Will Have A Cameo In Baby Prequel.

Here’s a good news for all you Akshay Kumar fans out there! Though the actor won’t play a major role in the prequel of Baby, buzz is that Akki will have a cameo in the movie, playing the character of a RAW Agent.

The movie will be directed by Shivam Nair and will be based on the story of female lead played by Taapsee Pannu. The flick will give a backstory about Taapsee’s character in Baby and Akki will be playing a key character in it.


Baby was always supposed to be a franchise, quoted a leading daily. Akshay and Neeraj wanted to do a sequel, but it could happen only if they had a solid script in hand. Neeraj, reportedly, discussed this role with Akshay when he was shooting forRustom and he liked it and agreed to do the role.

Akshay is currently lined with release of Rustom which is slated to release on 12th August. He has even began with the shooting of Jolly LLB 2.
