MUMBAI: He is yet to start the shooting of his debut Tamil film Robot 2 with Rajinikanth but actor Akshay Kumar is already in awe of the southern superstar.

Akshay, 48, who will be seen in a negative role in the reboot of the 2010 sci-fi film, said he felt like a child when he met Rajinikanth during the photoshoot of the movie.

Akshay Kumar in another 'Khiladi' film?



Akshay Kumar has numerous projects lined up, but there's room for more. Makers of "Yeh Kaisa Khiladi" are planning on roping in the superstar for a special song in the film.

Starring "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" fame actor Deepak Dobriyal aka Pappi Bhaiyya, the Aryeman Ramsay directorial is about a person who enjoys imitating Akshay. "My character imitates Akshay and is a Khiladi in his own way. It's going to be challenging but I'm glad to be part of it," Deepak told Mumbai Mirror.

Since Akshay is known for the daredevil stunts he pulls off in almost all of his films, Deepak will be undergoing extensive training, which will help him ace the part. "A Khiladi film is incomplete without stunts. I will begin training with an action expert soon," he further elaborated. Actress Bidita Bag is in talks for the lead (female).

Last year was extremely fruitful for Deepak with two blockbusters — "TWMR" and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" — and 2016 is already looking bright for him. His recently-released quit smoking short film co-starring Sunny Leone and Aloknath has gained traction over past few days and is being loved by all.

In other news, Akshay is a busy man and it could be tough to bring him on board considering he has a nightmarish schedule ahead. Currently, he is working on Tinu Desai's "Rustom," after which he begins Rajinikanth's "Robot 2." Vipul Shah's "Namastey England" is what he takes up after playing the baddie in the sci-fi. "Oh My God 2," "Awara Paagal Deewana 2," and "Welcome 3" are some of the projects he may be seen but there's been no official announcements yet.

 

Vipul Shah talks about ‘Namastey England’ & ‘Holiday 2’


Vipul Shah has made a number of successful films starring Akshay Kumar over the years. The duo will be working together once again on two upcoming projects: ‘Namastey England’ and ‘Holiday 2’.

About ‘Namastey England’, Shah told DNA India, “It is a fresh script and we start shooting in August. It will release next year.”

Contrary to rumours, the film is not a sequel to the 2007 hit ‘Namastey London’. ‘Holiday 2’, however, is a sequel to ‘Holiday’ (2014).

Confirming the ‘Holiday’ sequel, the producer stated, “We would have made this regardless of box-office numbers. There are some films you know can be turned into a franchise while there are some which should be allowed to just be. Holiday definitely has the potential to become one. Hence, we are planning Holiday 2 now… He (Akshay Kumar) will be on another tour of duty this time. We discussed the sequel even before we released Holiday and he was very happy with the idea.”

Shah also added that they would be approaching the original director of ‘Holiday’, A R Murugadoss, to direct the sequel.

Akshay Kumar is one helluva actor and an even better father. He loves kids and is always seen playing around whenever he has some free time. His son Aarav, who is 13 years old, has been making public appearances with his father lately, but his latest pic with dad Akki will make you wish to see them together onscreen as soon as possible. Yes! The father-son duo were on board of an Indian Navy vessel during the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2016 event, which was held recently.

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar plays a navy officer in his next – Rustom, so don’t be surprised to see him on navy ships. But with Aarav by his side, it seemed to be a picture perfect moment for the superstar. In an earlier interview, he had revealed how he would love to play father to his son in a movie sometime in the future. Wouldn’t it be great if Aarav could also be part of Rustom. However, we will have to wait for a few more years to see them together on the silver screen. We just hope that this moments comes soon as they look smashing together.
President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated IFR 2016 as he embarked on Presidential Yacht INS Sumitra and reviewed the international parade of fleet at IFR 2016, where 50 countries across the globe came together to participate in a show of prowess and preparedness by the Indian Navy. The President was accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and a few others.

 

Is 'Rustom' Inspired By The Infamous K.M Nanavati Case?.



The first look of Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Rustom was unveiled a couple of days back, in which Akshay is seen wearing a Naval uniform and we had also been told that the Khiladi plays a Parsi character in the film, which is based on real events.

Now, on hearing this and seeing Akshay's look, we were immediately reminded of the infamous KM Nanavati case, in which a Naval officer was charged with the murder of his wife's lover and the sensational trial by jury that followed, which shook the country. Incidentally, Nanavati's trial was the last trial by jury in India.

Considering the fact that Rustom is said to be a romantic thriller and that Akshay plays a Parsi Naval officer (like Nanavati), we wonder if the movie has been inspired by the incident. If it is indeed, time will only tell how the makers of Love Affair, another movie based on the same incident, react to this. For those who do not know this, Love Affair stars Gulshan Devaiah as the Navy officer with Kalki Koechlin playing his unfaithful wife.

Rustom has been produced by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

Bahubali writer planning a film with Akshay Kumar.

K.V. Vijayendra Prasad has shown the script to Akshay, who has quite liked it. The project is expected to get moving once the actor returns from Housefull 3 shoot.

A few days ago, SpotboyE told you about Bahubali script-writer K.V. Vijayendra Prasad penning an ambitious show for Star Plus based on Aryans vs Dravidians (Bahubali writer penning Aryans vs Dravidians for Star Plus, April 5).

We now have that he is also busy with his debut Bollywood directorial.



Prasad, who has helmed a few Telugu movies, is keen to cast Akshay Kumar in the yet-untitled film. He met Akshay for a script narration lately in Mumbai, who we hear, was impressed.

However, not much has happened after that as Akshay got busy completing Sajid-Farhad’s Housefull 3. The project is likely to pick up steam, as we hear that Prasad and Akshay are planning a second meeting.



Apart from Bahubali, Prasad has also penned super-hits like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Eega (Makkhi) and Magadheera.

 

Hrithik Roshan approaches Akshay Kumar to push ‘Rustom’ release.



Mumbai: Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has requested superstar Akshay Kumar to push release date of his much awaited film ‘Rustom’. Hrithik has done the following to avoid the clash of Akki’s film with his upcoming film, ‘Mohenjo Daro’.

“Hrithik approached Akshay just before he was supposed to fly to London for a shoot. Akshay heard him out and told him that he will get back to him on that,” a source informs.

However, co-producer of ‘Rustom’, Neeraj Pandey remained unavailable for comment.

Interestingly, Khiladi Kumar’s spokesperson said, “Akshay is out of the country for over a month so we are not aware about his meeting with Hrithik.”

‘Rustom’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro’ are set for a Box Office clash on August 12.

 

Jacqueline Fernandez’s ‘Housefull 3’ in 100 cities.


The makers of the much anticipated film ‘Housefull 3’ have planned for the biggest ever trailer launch for the film.

For the first time ever, the trailer of a film will be showcased in over 100 cities on the big screen at the same time. Around 50,000 fans will be able to watch the trailer at the same time across the country. Confirming this, Sajid Nadaidwala said: “This is a special treat planned for Housefull franchise fans.”


In over 100 cities, fans of the Housefull franchise will be watching the trailer in their respective cities simultaneously.

Some of the B and C towns that will get to witness this are Gawalior, Kota, Udaipur, Raipur, Rajkot, Surat, Nasik, Patna, Gaya, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Banaras and others, apart from the usual metro cities.

At the end of the trailer will be a special message for the fans from the entire team of ‘Housefull 3’.

The ensemble star cast, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, along with the directors and producers of the film will be present in Mumbai for a big launch event.

Eros International and NGE’s ‘Housefull 3’ is directed by Sajid Farhad releasing on June 3.
